Activated carbon adsorption and desorption + CO catalytic combustion waste gas treatment process generally requires the use of spray tower + dry filter as pre-treatment; process is a combination of activated carbon adsorption and desorption device + CO catalytic combustion equipment, high purification efficiency, is currently widely used in one of the waste gas treatment process.

Working Principle


After pre-treatment, the organic waste gas passes through the activated carbon adsorber, and the VOCs are adsorbed and intercepted by the activated carbon adsorbent, and discharged according to the standard. Adsorbent adsorption saturation, through the valve switch, the introduction of small air volume of hot air for high-temperature blowback desorption, desorption out of the high concentration, small air volume concentration of waste gas, into the catalytic burner combustion treatment, the release of a large amount of heat and reuse system.

Work steps

①Pre-treatment: The organic waste gas with large air volume and low concentration (<400mg/m3) generated in the workshop enters into the water washing spraying demisting by the pipeline, and then goes through the dry filtration to remove most of the particles.

②Adsorption and concentration:After pre-treatment VOCs gas, it is adsorbed through the activated carbon layer to provide high VOCs removal rate and meet the standard discharge.

③High temperature desorption + catalytic combustion (CO): VOCs in the exhaust gas are concentrated on the surface of the activated carbon, and a small airflow of approximately 100°C is provided by a mixing heater to perform reverse desorption. Desorption out of the high concentration, small air volume concentration of exhaust gas sent to the catalytic combustion furnace (CO) catalytic combustion decomposition into CO2 and H2O, combustion exothermic reuse, energy saving!

Process characteristics

1 . Convenient operation: the equipment works to achieve automatic control.
2 . Low energy consumption: it takes only 15-30 minutes to warm up the equipment to the ignition temperature, and the energy consumption is only the power of the fan, which is automatically compensated when the concentration is low.
3 . Safe and reliable: the equipment is equipped with fire retardant dust removal system, explosion-proof pressure relief system, over-temperature alarm system and advanced automatic control system.

7 . Long service life: the catalyst is generally replaced in 8000 hours, and the carrier can be regenerated.

Features of honeycomb activated carbon for adsorption and desorption

Adsorption desorption using honeycomb activated carbon features

Activated carbon fibre is made of natural fibre soaked with flame retardant, low-temperature carbonization, high-temperature activation, the main component is elemental carbon, graphite-like microcrystalline chips in a chaotic form of stacking, microporous into a V-shape with the traditional granular carbon compared to the easier adsorption and resolution.
